Welcome to Sheree’s Grooming! Our goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, and positive grooming experience for your dog. To ensure the highest quality of service and care, please review and adhere to the following grooming policies. By booking your dog in, you agree to these policies.
Appointment Scheduling
Booking Appointments:
- Appointments can be scheduled via phone, email, or through our online booking system.
- We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred date and time.
Arrival Time:
- Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.
- Late arrivals may result in a shortened grooming session or the need to reschedule.
- Please park your vehicle out the front without impeding any neighbours driveways.
Cancellation Policy:
- Kindly provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee.
Health and Safety Requirements
Medical Conditions:
- Inform us of any medical conditions, allergies, or sensitivities your dog may have.
- This includes recent surgeries, chronic illnesses, or any medications they are taking.
- We do not express anal glands unless there is a veterinary recommendation.
Fleas and Ticks:
- Dogs with fleas or ticks will receive a mandatory flea bath at an additional cost.
- Severe infestations may require rescheduling after proper treatment.
- As a home-based business, we must thoroughly clean to prevent fleas from affecting our pets and other clients.
Ear Cleaning:
- Based on veterinary recommendations, we clean and remove hair only from the external parts of the ear.
- If we observe any signs of infection or inflammation, we will not touch the ears unless advised by a veterinarian.
Teeth Cleaning:
- We provide gentle teeth brushing but do not remove plaque or tartar.
Skin Conditions:
- De-matting and clipping may expose existing skin conditions in your pet.
- Please inform us of any known skin issues prior to grooming.
Behavioural Considerations
Temperament:
- Please notify us if your dog has any behavioral issues such as aggression or anxiety.
- We reserve the right to refuse service if a pet poses a risk to themselves or our staff.
Muzzling:
- For the safety of your pet and our groomers, a muzzle may be used if necessary.
During the Groom
One-at-a-Time Grooming:
- We groom dogs one at a time for single-dog families to ensure personalized attention. During busy periods, we may groom up to two dogs simultaneously.
- The grooming process typically takes between 1 to 2.5 hours. An estimated completion time will be provided at drop-off.
Visitor Policy:
- For safety reasons, we do not allow non-staff members to stay during the grooming session unless organized prior for safety reasons.
Risk of Injury:
- While we take every precaution to ensure your pet’s safety, the use of sharp tools like scissors and clippers carries a rare risk of cuts, especially with de-matting or if a pet moves unexpectedly.
- All costs associated with veterinary attention due to grooming-related injuries are the responsibility of the pet owner.
Pricing Adjustments:
- Prices may change at the groomer’s discretion based on factors such as coat condition, presence of fleas, and dog behavior.
- Any additional charges will be discussed with you upon pickup.
Timely Pickup:
- Dogs may become excited if they sense their owner nearby, which can make finishing the grooming session difficult and increase the risk of injury.
- Please arrive on time—not early—for pickup. If you arrive early and we are still grooming, please stay out of sight to avoid distracting your pet.
Aggressive Behavior:
- If your pet exhibits aggressive behavior or bites the groomer, we will halt the grooming session for the safety of all involved.
- In such cases, the full grooming fee will still apply.
- We cannot accommodate aggressive pets as they pose a risk of injury to our staff.
Owner Responsibilities
- Accurate Information:
- Provide complete and accurate information about your dog’s health and behavior.
- Accessibility:
- Ensure you are reachable during your dog’s appointment in case we need to contact you.
- Timely Pickup:
- Please pick up your dog promptly after being notified that the grooming session is complete.
Payment and Pricing
Payment Methods:
- We accept cash, credit cards, and debit cards.
- Payment is due at the time of service completion.
Pricing:
- Prices vary based on breed, size, coat condition, and the specific services requested.
- Additional fees may apply for extra services like de-matting or handling difficult pets.
Liability and Consent
Safety First:
- We prioritize your pet’s safety and well-being above all else.
- However, grooming can sometimes expose hidden health issues; we are not liable for pre-existing conditions or reactions.
Consent for Services:
- By bringing your dog to us, you consent to all necessary grooming procedures and agree to this grooming policy.
